Jorge A. Cisneros
Jorge A. Cisneros (Washington College, B.A. First Honor Graduate 2001, New York University School of Law, J.D., 2011) joined Levy Ratner in August, 2011. Cisneros is involved in all aspects of the firm's labor practice and represents unions and individual employees in arbitrations, litigation and proceedings before the NLRB. Cisneros’s primary focus at LR is on Taft-Hartley funds, collection matters, ERISA litigation, bankruptcy proceedings, and withdrawal liability actions.
During Law School, Cisneros was an active member of the National Lawyers Guild Detainee Working Group, documenting proceedings at the Varick Street Immigration Court and safeguarding due process for immigrant detainees. He also assisted in the preparation of legal articles advocating reform of the use of criminal orders of protection in Family Law courts and calling for improvements in the ability of victims of corporate crimes to seek collective restitution. He has been and continues to be active in the National Lawyers Guild Legal Observer program, monitoring police actions, violations of rights and arrests at protests and demonstrations. Prior to law school Cisneros was a peace activist, helping to organize an anti-war group in college and participating in numerous anti-war demonstrations in the United States and the Middle East. Cisneros is fluent in Spanish.
