Local 2110, Technical, Office and Professional Union, United Auto Workers Prevails Against New York State Housing Finance Agency

Local 2110, Technical, Office and Professional Union, represented by LR’s Susan J. Cameron, prevailed in its challenge to three state agencies’ invasive background check policies. New York State PERB Administrative Law Judge Angela M. Blassman found that the state agencies violated the Public Employees’ Fair Employment Act when they unilaterally required employees represented by Local 2110 to undergo fingerprinting and complete an invasive background check to receive a promotion or merit increase. Judge Blassman ordered the agencies to rescind the policy. The decision can be found here.
