Court Approves Final Settlement in Thompson v. HUD

Levy Ratner’s Robert H. Stroup was involved in the landmark settlement of Thompson v. HUD, a racial discrimination lawsuit on behalf of a class of public housing residents in Baltimore, Maryland. The settlement will provide opportunities, valued in the millions of dollars, for class members to move from their current neighborhoods to ones with greater opportunities for employment, improved housing and better schools. Levy Ratner partnered with attorneys from the NAACP Legal Defense & Educational Fund, Inc., the Maryland ACLU, Morgan Lewis & Bacchius in Washington DC, and Brown, Goldstein & Levy from Baltimore, Md.
